I met him during our high school. 

Approximately 15 years ago. 

He was a charming student and smart.

While on the other hand I was fat and ugly and average.

(Btw we were from premier school, so I wasnt that stupid. Just average among the brilliant)

Well,

We were not a best friend though.

Just good, but not best, friend.

He transferred to better school, where he should belong.

And until then I started to realize he always visited me when he was on his break.

(And with any reasons too! Haha)

We spend our night, talking on any topics.

He shared his crush secrets and his admires.

(Well boys talk)

After we finished school, and everyone further to universities, he is still on my contact loop, still.

We were talking to the phone sometimes. (He called me of course)

And he shared how a girl who is his crush's best friend is marrying him.

He came to my wedding day. With his first child.

Leaving second child and his wife (on confinement period) at home.

That was beyond my expectation.

He is nice, isn't he?

He texted me just now, "Hi, how are you?"

And I started realizing,

He is That One Friend

Who is not close, but a good one.

...and his don't-know-when-is-the-end waiting to that girl.

They used to text, like madly interesting to each other. But it faded bit by bit until it become none.

The reason were busy, focusing on study, broken phone, illness.

Reason  was extremely busy.

He once visited the place of where they went, and somehow she labeled him 'scary'.

And the man apologizing as if it was a huge mistake.

He said he wanted to stay firm.

To follow the flow.

To follow the beats and the tempo of this girl is playing.

But on the other hand, he keep on counting days in his social medias on how he is struggling.

For keeping the gap

Every post is a hint to her.

But she never responded.

Or apologize.

Or feeling guilty.

No simple "Hi" though.
